If I absolutely had to narrow it down, I’ll say the average GTA 5 mission takes only 15 minutes. To complete the story mode portion of the game (100% completion) it will take 100 hours or more. It differs if you’re doing a speed run of the story mode (to any percent), it can take 15 hours.

You don’t need to complete all the Story missions to explore. First couple you HAVE to complete in order to progress the game beyond the hand-holding stage (tutorial). Once you’re at Franklin’s house, you’re free to do as you please. For the record, it took me around 70 hours to complete Story Mode, though I did do all the Rampage stuff too.

Why would you want to rush through the story? We have to wait 2 weeks before GTA Online anyway. I plan on taking my time and making the story last me the entire 2 weeks. As for the length, personally I felt GTA IV dragged on too long and felt like a chore towards the end. RDR was the perfect length. So if GTA V’s story is a similar length, I’ll be satisfied with that.

Usually when I want to load into online I load into story mode first and go into online from there because if I try it from the initial start up menu when GTA starts up it takes an eternity to load into online . Goes from a 10 minute wait to 2 minutes. About a minute or two.

I click story mode, or online, and it takes LITERALLY 5-6 minutes to load. Can someone please help? You don’t need an SSD like everyone says, most of them don’t even know what they are. I use a HDD and I load story or online in around 20 seconds.
If it’s the first time, it took about 20 minutes. Loading after that has been a huge improvement over IV, I’d say it takes maybe a minute tops. where have i been
