If you’ll use openiv it will create mods folder. But you must select install on mods folder option when installing any mod. i know this. also that isnt backing up the game.

There are other answers below:

Use OpenIV, have it install the Mods folder, when you want to play online or not modded, just have to rename dinput8.dll to something simple like 1dinput8.dll and mods won’t load. Name it back to dinput8.dll when you want mods to load. It’s that easy unless you are wanting to have a second copy of gta5 on your computer for other reasons. 0 2 Posts

So basically when it launches the game, instead of getting car models from: Grand Theft Auto V/…/…/…/vehcles.rpf, it would get them from Grand Theft Auto V/mods/…/…/…/vehicles.rpf. When you want to return to the clean GTA V, just go back into openIV, go back to ‘tools > ASI Manager’ and click uninstall for all 3.

Then I copied the game files from an unmodded game into the unmodded folder, and then start modding the game. Whenever I want to play online, I just cut and paste the modded game files into the modded folder and then cut and paste the unmodded files into the main game directory. 1. level 2. BobbyLight350Z.

C:\Program Files\Epic Games\GTAV. Rockstar Launcher. C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V. 2. Take the following files: GTA5.exe. GTAVLauncher.exe ( PlayGTAV for Epic) update/update.rpf. You will have to create the “update” folder in your “backup” folder, then just take update.rpf into that backup folder.

4. When GTAV updates Let it do so, and wait until it fully completes the update. Copy the files (GTA5.exe, GTAVLauncher.exe, and the folder “update” into your main GTAV directory and replace any currently existing files.

Yes, that would actually be even better (as far as how things “should” work when everything goes ok), because it is likely that, by modding, you added some extra files that don’t exist normally. Although in that case, it’s an even cleaner way to just go uninstall and reinstall. 2. level 1.

Hey guys..what’s up?first of all guys thank your for 2k subs! Its a video about some problems that I just solved…..please don’t just ask this kind of quest…

Make a backup of your game files before you mod so that you can go back to vanilla GTA if you don’t want to use mods anymore. DO NOT try to load online if you’ve altered the files in anyway, you’ll get insta-banned. You can’t get banned for modding SP, you’ll get banned for modding SP and trying to load MP.

While having one GTAV folder for SP (with mods) and one for MP (vanilla for clean online without fear of getting banned) would be the preferred way to run, it may not always be something one can do. However even doing that, you’re still left with the issue of the game forcing itself to update.
