If you’re playing Diablo III, during gameplay, you can simply press Control+ R on your keyboard to view your FPS. How do I show FPS on battle net? Toggling the FPS Display (Shift+Ctrl+R by default on PC; Options > Video > Show Network Stats on console) will show information related to your game performance in the top-left corner of your screen.

Playing the game on my 3 year old 3Ghz Core 2 Duo 24″ iMac w/ a GeForce GT 130 graphics card, I see an average of 20fps on max settings. If I turn everything down to low quality, I see an increase of about 8fps. Both of these numbers will be noticeably higher in about a month – when Diablo 3 is released.
Ctrl+R for Windows, Cmd+R for Mac. Look in the bottom right of the screen for your small FPS number to display.

If I go into Nvidia Control Panel, then to Manage 3D settings, Then to Program Settings, Find or add “Diablo III (diablo III64.exe)” scroll down a bit to “Power Management Mode” and change it to “Prefer Maximum Performance”. Click apply when it shows up.
