As we mentioned in our review of Super Mario Odyssey, beating the game’s story does not spell the end for Mario’s adventure in the Odyssey – in fact, it will open up a new world to explore in the form of the Mushroom Kingdom. On top of Princess Peach’s iconic castle lies a Yoshi egg just waiting to be found, but first you’ve got to make your way up there.
Break open the egg on the roof and posses Yoshi. Yoshi is in Super Mario Odyssey and you get to use him as one of the capture-able creature. He is not a fully playable character as a replacement for Mario on all levels, but it is still nice to be able to have fun with our old friend.
Once the credits have finished rolling, you’ll unlock the Mushroom Kingdom. If you’ve played Super Mario 64 then you probably have some idea about where to find Yoshi. You’ll need to head towards the left-hand side of Peach’s Castle (from the Odyssey) and throw Cappy at the scarecrow you’ll find there.
Head to the Remote Island in the Lava (in the far northeast), then down the natural steps on the right side of the island. The painting will take you to Yoshi’s House. Use Cappy to put out the fire in the chimney, then wall jump your way up to the top. You’ll find the moon just above the top of the chimney.
Yoshi is hiding in a little egg on top of Peach’s Castle in Super Mario Odyssey too. You’ll need to throw your cap at the the scarecrow on the left of the castle. This will create a staircase that will allow you to get on top of Peach’s Castle.
